Opportunities for Sustainability
Sustainability – is this inflationarily used term still of significant relevance nowadays? Was it a luxury we could afford yesterday, abandoning it in a moment of crisis, or has there hardly been any room for it so far, since we have blindly been following growth, consolidating now at a sustainable level? Or do only those who place an emphasis on economic sustainability in time survive tumultuous times to come? It is incontestable that due to its great impact on the environment the domain of real estate plays a decisive role within today´s sustainable development which concerns all the phases of building life cycles. Thus a holisitic and sustainable view – from the planning phase of a building to its disposal – is getting increasingly important.
